The Maine Democratic Party Platform Committee met prior to presenting a new draft to the State Central Committee Chair. The Family Caregiver Platform Project made a submission to the Party in October, 2015.

The 2016 Maine Democratic Party Platform now addresses caregiver support under Section B. Health Care, on page 4, where it says:

“We support a democratic government that:

Addresses the crisis in elder care by fostering an age-friendly environment through increased access by the elderly to care, through development of strong training and support for care givers, and through continuing support for Social Security and Medicare.”
