The Family Caregiver Platform Project made a submission during testimony to the Democratic Party in California. Naomi Kirschenbaum, the FCPP state contact person for California, submitted platform suggestions to the California Democratic Party Platform committee via email on October 16, 2015. California Democrats review their platform every two years. The 2016 California Democratic Party platform includes new caregiving language. The Health Care Section now includes the bullet: “Recognize the physical and financial burdens of family caregivers and support legislation and programs to provide adequate training, assistive interventions, and financial safety nets such as employer savings and tax credits.”
