The Family Caregiver Platform Project submitted the following language at a platform committee meeting in August, 2015.
- “We support family caregivers and efforts to make family caregiving more feasible, affordable, and accessible, allowing seniors and others with disabilities to remain at home for as long as possible. To heal, age, and live in place. We support policies that recognize the impact that caregiving can have on workers in areas such as stress and absenteeism.”
The 2015-2016 Platform includes family caregiving language on page 6:
“Arizona Democrats support family caregivers and efforts to make formal caregiving more affordable, feasible, and accessible, allowing seniors and people with disabilities to remain at home for as long as possible to heal, age, and thrive. We support policies that provide the services needed for caregiving families to remain healthy, happy, and productive.”
